Pivotell Advance GSM pill dispenser with App alert messaging

Making sure that someone has taken their medication can be stressful, especially when you are supporting someone at a distance.

The Pivotell Advance GSM pill dispenser can be easily filled, and programmed online to dispense pills up to 24 times a day. At the pre-programmed times, the dispenser rotates, the alarm signal is heard, and the correct dosage comes into view through the opening in the lid. The alarm can be programmed to ring for up to 5 hours. A self-locking shutter over the lid opening prevents access to the medication tray except at the alarm time. This prevents the possibility of double dosing or the forced movement of the medication tray by the user. The dispenser can send alert messages to family members if medication has, or has not been dispensed from the device at the medication time so that appropriate action is taken to check on the wellbeing of the individual before a potentially adverse event occurs.

Now, using the Jointly app, families can receive and store these messages in one central place, and share them with everyone involved in someone’s care. Alert messages can be sent in the following instances to your Jointly circle:

• Dose not taken (halfway through the alarm time, to allow time to prompt)
• and Dose not taken (at the end of the alarm time)
• Dose Dispensed
• 4 doses only remaining in the tray
• Dispenser has been left upside down
• Low battery
• Device error

The Pivotell Advance GSM pill dispenser can also send SMS messages to up to three mobile numbers, and to one e-mail address (& if the user has a mobile phone he or she could be sent one of the warning messages).

How does the Jointly app work?

Choose 'Add Jointly app' at checkout.  All you will need to do is wait for an email to arrive with the details of your newly created Jointly circle of care, then you can login to Jointly and start using the app.

The Administration Centre

The dispenser is programmed online using the Pivotell Administration Centre, which provides reports on the user's medication compliance, for example, it records the actual times when medication has been dispensed and when warning messages such as 'Dose not taken' have been sent. The full communications history between the device and the Administration Centre can be monitored.

The SIM card

A SIM card is supplied with the Pivotell GSM dispenser which will pick up the best mobile network signal in any given area. This requires the Pivotell GSM dispenser to be located in an area with at least one active mobile network.

• We supply an all inclusive SIM card - no need to top up, with all messaging included for 6 months for £69.50 (ex VAT) paid by Direct Debit (payment taken by Go Cardless).  First payment will be taken as soon as you set up the Direct Debit. The Direct Debit will be taken renew every 6 months. Cancel with 30 days notice prior to the renewal.

• Average daily cost: 38 pence.  We will email you to set up the Direct Debit of £69.50 via Go Cardless.  Please look out for an email from Go Cardless on behalf of Pivotell. Please note: the dispenser cannot be despatched until the direct debit has been set up.

GoCardless process Direct Debit payments on behalf of other businesses and organisations, effectively acting as a 'master merchant'. The Administration Centre

Main Features

• Security - a self-locking shutter over the lid opening prevents access to the medication tray except at the time that medication is programmed to be available. This prevents the possibility of double dosing or the forced movement of the medication tray by the user.​
• Display - the LCD display will be visible though the lid allowing the user and carer to view: the date and time, the time that the next dose is due, the number of doses remaining, the battery level
• Upside-down - the tray will not rotate if upside down but will still alarm.
• Daily Alarm Times - 1-24. Compartments - 28. Two or more compartments can be programmed to alarm at the same time (for those with many or large pills).
• Start Delay and Stop functions - Delays activation or deactivates dispenser - useful for those using multiple dispensers and to allow pharmacists or family members to fill in advance away from home.
• A Pharmacy label carrier and label case is supplied (to comply with Royal Pharmacy Society of Great Britain labelling requirements) .
• Day / time discs supplied (for 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 times daily dosage and one blank disc for five or more doses per day).
• Battery life - up to 12 months. Battery level meter and warning indicator. Secure battery case cover to deter tampering (screw provided).
• Spare trays, lids and time discs available for off-site filling by family members or pharmacists.
• Four different alarm sounds. Flashing light for those with hearing impairment.
• Lockable - only the medication due can be accessed by the user.
