Medication Dispensers and Accessories

What is an automatic tablet dispenser?

An automatic pill dispenser, (also known as automatic medication dispenser) has 28 compartments for medication, and is lockable, so the user doesn’t have access to their medication until the programmed alarm time. The dispenser will alarm and rotate at the programmed alarm time, presenting the correct dose for the user.  This makes them an excellent aid for those with Alzheimers, Dementia or confusion. The user should pick up the dispenser and tip the tablets into their hand, or a cup, and then take the dose with a drink. This cancels the alarm sound and the flashing light. The dispenser will not present another medication dose until the next programmed alarm time. Pivotell Advance Dispenser

How do automatic pill dispensers work?

Take the right dose at the right time. At the programmed alarm time the pill dispenser will rotate to present the dose, a light will flash and alarm will sound. The user has to simply pick up the medication dispenser and tip the pills into their hand or a cup, and take the dose with a drink. The dispenser should then be placed back down until the next alarm time when it will present the next dose. It is programmed with 3 buttons, and has up to 28 possible alarms per day, so can accommodate very complicated medication regimes. It is possible to purchase spare trays and accessories to go with the dispenser, such as the Tipper if the user has dexterity problems, creating a complete system.

Many pharmacies fill Pivotell dispensers, but if yours doesnt, contact us for some information to give to your pharmacist.  We supply filling aids to help fill the dispensers, making it much easier for family or pharmacy to fill. We also have video guides for how to program an automatic pill dispenser.
