How the Pivotell Advance GSM Pill Dispenser Works

Peace of mind when you can't be there

Connected Pivotell dispensers do everything a standard Pivotell does, and also send alerts to family or carers, for example if a dose isn't dispensed at the alarm time, so you can keep an eye on things without calling every medication time. The Advance GSM is available now, and our new Wi-Fi and 4G models are coming soon.

Pivotell Advance GSM: available now

All the features of the Pivotell Advance, plus alerts over the mobile network. No broadband needed.

Alerts if a dose isn't dispensed

If a dose isn't dispensed at the alarm time, text alerts go to up to three contacts, and an email to one. Alerts can also go to the Jointly app from Carers UK, if wanted.

Set up online

Dose times are set in the Pivotell Administration Centre (the Admin Centre link at the top of this page), which also keeps a record of when doses were dispensed and alerts sent.

SIM included

A SIM card on the Vodafone and EE networks, on a 6-month all-inclusive contract paid by direct debit. 2G is supported until 2029.

Our new connected models will do everything a standard Pivotell does, with a wider choice of alerts and set-up from a smartphone.

How they'll work

  1. Register

    Your dispenser is pre-registered for you. Create an account on the online Administration Centre.

  2. Connect

    Wi-Fi models join your home network using a smartphone. The 4G model uses the mobile network instead.

  3. Set up online

    Enter dose times and choose who gets which alerts, from a computer or phone.

  4. Fill and go

    Fill the tray as normal. At each dose time the dispenser alarms and presents only that dose.

  5. Stay informed

    Family or carers receive alerts, and the Administration Centre keeps a record of when doses were dispensed.

Connected alerts carry an additional service cost. Ask our team for current prices.

Choosing 4G? The 4G model uses LTE-M, a part of the mobile network that isn't available everywhere, even where 4G phone signal is. We'll check coverage at the person's address before you order.

Questions

Does the person using it need a smartphone?

No. The dispenser works with its own alarm and light. A smartphone is only needed to set up a Wi-Fi connection, and alerts go to family or carers.

Can our pharmacy fill it?

Many pharmacies fill Pivotell dispensers, so ask yours. Spare trays let them prepare the next tray in advance.
