* this is the name of the Jointly circle to be created, usually the name of the person at the centre of your Jointly care circle - only required for new Jointly Circles
** this email address will be linked to the Pivotell GSM dispenser and used to create the Jointly circle of care

Making sure someone has had their medication can be stressful, especially when you're supporting them from a distance. The Pivotell Advance GSM sends alerts to family if medication has, or hasn't, been dispensed at the alarm time, so they can check on the person's wellbeing before a problem develops.

With the Jointly app, families can receive and keep these alerts in one place, and share them with everyone involved in someone's care. The dispenser also sends text messages to up to three mobile numbers and an email to one address, just like the text alert version.

The alert messages

Alerts can go to your Jointly circle, by text and by email:

  • Dose not dispensed
  • Dose dispensed
  • Only 4 doses left in the tray
  • Dispenser left upside down
  • Low battery
  • Device error

How the Jointly app works

The SIM card and running costs

An all-inclusive SIM card is supplied, using the Vodafone and EE networks. It picks up the best signal available, so the dispenser needs to be somewhere with at least one working mobile network. The 2G network it uses is supported until 2029.

  • £69.50 every 6 months (ex VAT) by Direct Debit, with all messaging included and no topping up. That's about 38p a day.
  • We'll email you to set up the Direct Debit, which is collected by GoCardless on behalf of Pivotell. The dispenser is despatched once it's set up.
  • The Direct Debit renews every 6 months. Cancel with 30 days' notice before the renewal date.

You're covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Set up online

Dose times are set in the Pivotell Administration Centre. It keeps a record of when doses were dispensed and when alerts were sent, so family and professionals can see how things are going.

Main features

The Advance GSM has all the features of the Pivotell Advance:

  • Self-locking shutter: only the right dose can be reached, reducing the risk of double dosing
  • Lid locks with the key supplied
  • Display through the lid shows the date, time, next dose, doses left and battery level
  • Up to 24 alarms a day, and two or more compartments can present at the same alarm time
  • Four alarm sounds and a flashing light, from 5 minutes up to 5 hours
  • Start delay and stop functions, for offsite filling
  • Upside-down function: it won't rotate until it's upright again
  • Pharmacy label carrier, day and time discs, and a battery cover that screws shut

In the box: the dispenser, 2 printed time discs (1 to 4 doses a day), 2 blank discs, a key, a battery cover screw, a prescription booklet and holder, 4 x AA batteries and the SIM card.

Spare trays let the next tray be filled in advance, so refilling is a quick swap. Some medicines shouldn't go in any dispensing system, so if in doubt, check with a pharmacist.
